I do a fair amount of visiting restaurants I see on the Food Channel. For the most part, they are nice places, but definitely not the best thing I’ve ever had. Each restaurant’s gimmicks are interesting ideas, but not particularly tasty.
Had a very different experience at Toloache. I didn’t take any pictures of my tacos de chapulin or pescado or cabeza, and I’m not going to spend time describing the avocado or cactus fries or crepe de cajeta. I’ll just leave an observation here—Toloache provided this Mexican with a very tasty take on foods I’d seen or had before and surpassed my expectations for any fancy Mexican restaurant in New York’s theater district.
