The other day my mother asked me a random question. I don’t even remember what it was, but it was a question where she observed something, but wasn’t quite sure how to explain why that particular thing happened. She started her question the way she starts many, “Yo no soy preparada, pero . . . .”
My mom apologizes a lot for not having more formal schooling. It’s not like she needs to apologize to me, because the way I see it, preparation is what helps you figure out an answer. The much harder skills are knowing which questions to ask and then putting them out there.
