Twenty-some years ago, I was cutting out of church services early when my bishop’s wife caught me and invited me to her two-year-old’s birthday party. I had just moved to the Philadelphia area and didn’t really know anyone, so I opted for an evening with this family. That birthday party began a great friendship with an entire family.
This weekend, that two-year-old got married and I had the chance to recreate a classic scene in our history.
As our plane took off from Phoenix on Sunday night, all phones not in airplane mode got a sever weather emergency alert message. As the beeping and buzzing and fumbling of people trying to turn their phones off continued, I looked out the window and saw this.
